That includes putting in new cabinets to make enough space for storage. Plus, people are less likely to make their kitchens into open-concept rooms, which let the cooking flow into other rooms.
The share of renovating homeowners opening their kitchens to create open-concept floor layouts (43%), down from 53% two years ago.
Updated kitchen cabinets are most often white (41%), mild wood tones (13%), or gray (10%). The most popular kitchen wall colors are gray (28%), white (26%), and beige (21%).
For people who choose a contrasting island color, blue (27%) and gray (20%) are the most popular choices. However, only 13% of people who choose different main cabinetry choose these colors.s.
